Our Mission Statement
The Mineral Wells Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all Mineral Wells area citizens through quality recreation programs, quality events and well maintained parks and recreation facilities. The department will also strive to preserve the city’s natural environment to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations of citizens.
Mineral Wells Fossil Park
Due to popular demand, the Mineral Wells Fossil Park is open every day! Your family can enjoy fossil hunting any day of the week!

We offer and maintain a wide range of recreation, health, fitness, and athletic programs for all citizens. To enhance the quality of life, we provide park facilities that are visually appealing to citizens and visitors by maintaining park grounds and specific right of way easements and entrances to Mineral Wells.
The Activity Center on Fort Wolters is available for weddings, birthdays and large events. With a maximum capacity of 400 people, this is our largest facility available. This building is located at 735 Hood Road, directly across the street from the City Gym.
The Shelter at West City Park is located near the playground at West Park, 1200 W. Hubbard, and is available to reserve for your outdoor event. Please call the City Gym for more information.
The Gazebo at West City Park, also located near the playground at 1200 W. Hubbard, is available for reservations.
The Gazebo at Zappe Park located behind the Poston Building in downtown Mineral Wells is also available for reservation.
