The City of Mineral Wells is accepting applications for positions on the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment. If you have considered serving in a volunteer position, please submit your application to the City Clerk.

The City of Mineral Wells is accepting applications for positions on the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment. Applications are considered active for two years.

PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION:  Creates City’s zoning ordinance text and map and administers same. Reviews and recommends to City Council regarding zone change requests, street/alley closures, specific use permits, and new plats or replats. Seven-member Board, two year terms. City residency required. Generally meets on the first Monday each month at 5:30 p.m.

BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT/BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION:  Renders interpretation of zoning ordinance; considers special exceptions to land uses and variances to building controls set by zoning ordinance.  Also administers the City’s condemnation/demolition program. Must be a City resident and qualified elector. Five members, four alternates, two year terms. Not an advisory Board, decisions are final. Generally meets on third Thursday each month at 9:00 a.m.

Applications may be found here. Applications may also be picked up in the City Clerk’s Office, 115 S.W. 1st Street, Mineral Wells, TX 76067. Applications are considered active for one year.
