Facade Grant Program

The Mineral Wells Facade Grant Program offers financial incentives to building owners and commercial tenants located in commercially or industrially zoned areas of Mineral Wells, Texas. Administered by the Mineral Wells Economic Development Corporation (MWEDC), the program supports exterior improvements that enhance the visual appeal and historic preservation of business properties, contributing to the city’s overall economic health and vitality. 

Key Grant Types & Limits:

  • Facade Improvements: 50% matching up to $10,000

  • Awnings & Signage: 50% matching up to $2,500 each

  • Fencing & Screening: 50% matching up to $1,000

  • Sidewalk Enhancements: 50% matching up to $5,000

  • Murals: 50% matching up to $2,500

Eligible Projects include exterior painting, awning installation, signage, murals, and architectural restorations. Ineligible Projects include roof repairs, interior work, temporary decorations, and routine maintenance.

Application Process:
Applicants must submit a detailed application, including descriptions, plans, and cost estimates. Projects must be approved before starting, completed within 12 months, and comply with local codes and design standards. Reimbursements are provided after project completion and verification.

Selection Criteria:
Priority is given to historically significant or deteriorating buildings, job-creating projects, and renovations that improve aesthetic and architectural value.
