[ARCHIVED] FAQ: HOW MINERAL WELLS HANDLES COVID-RELATED MATTERS

These are the main questions the community wants to know about how the city is handling civic matters.

Do we have Covid-19 in Mineral Wells?

No cases have been confirmed yet.

How long will the limit on 10 persons exist?

Until further notice.

Are the city parks closed?

Not at this time.  However, gatherings of more than 10 people are not allowed.

Will the pool be open this summer?

At this time, we don’t know but if the current circumstances don’t change the pool will not open for the summer.

Are restaurants affected?

Yes, restaurants and bars are only allowed to use drive-thru, pickup or delivery.

What about daycare facilities?

Daycare is regulated differently.  Please see the following link for more information:  COVID Guidance to Childcare Providers.

What about hair and nail salons?  

Hair and nail salons and similar types of businesses are not encouraged but are not prohibited.  Social distancing and hygiene are strongly advised

What if I don’t comply?

The penalty for violation is a fine up to $1,000 or confinement in jail up to 180 days. 

Does  this apply to sporting events?

Yes

What city facilities are closed?

All baseball/softball and soccer fields, City Gym and the Activity Center.  Boyce Ditto Library is curbside only.  City Hall and the Annex are limited access only.  Please use our drop box for water bill payment and conduct all business you can without entering the buildings.
