Michael R. Pool
Chief Mike Pool began his fire service career in 1976 as a volunteer with the Haltom City Fire Department. Later, he signed on to become a full-time firefighter and completed his fire recruit training at the distinguished Arlington Fire Department Training Academy. During his career with Haltom City, he was involved in all aspects of the fire services including: fire operations, emergency medical, fire prevention, rescue, and training. Rising through the ranks, Mike retired from Haltom City as a Fire Lieutenant in 2012 after 34 years of service.
Chief Pool is certified through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as a Head of Department for both Fire Suppression and Fire Prevention. His additional certifications include: Advanced Firefighter, Advanced Fire Inspector, Intermediate Fire Investigator (cause and origin), Fire Instructor II, Fire Driver/Operator, and Emergency Medical Technician. He has also been licensed through the Texas Department of Insurance as a Fire Alarm Technician and for Fire Protection – Fixed Systems.
In October of 2013, following the sudden passing of Chief Robin Allen, Mike came out of retirement to lend a hand and lead the Mineral Wells Fire/EMS Department. In that capacity, Chief Pool has continued to improve upon the long-standing tradition and rich history of fire service here in Mineral Wells. Chief Pool emphasizes professionalism, training, and preparedness as his goals moving the fire department forward. A safe Mineral Wells benefits everyone.
