Q: Is there any further guidance the City of Mineral Wells can give when it comes to budget? Is there a grant the city has for this project, or is there an allotted budget for this project? Is there an ideal investment amount the city would like to spend on the project and the deliverables?
- The City of Mineral Wells has allocated funding for this project within the 2025 budget. At this stage, we are inviting agencies to submit their best ideas and pricing for consideration. Rather than providing a set budget or pricing upfront, we would like agencies to present their true costs and innovative solutions, along with their goals and ideas for the project. This approach will help us assess the most effective and impactful proposals in line with our project objectives. We look forward to reviewing the creative and cost-effective solutions that will bring this project to life.
Q: Is the city interested in learning about more services the agency provides that may be out of scope of the RFP? If so, would you like those items listed in the budget?
- Yes, the City is definitely interested in learning about the full range of services your agency provides, even if they are outside the scope of the current RFP. Please feel free to include a section in your proposal that outlines these additional services. For clarity, we would appreciate it if you could present this information with a separate budget that includes line items for the cost of each additional service.
Q: Is the city open to hearing about more deliverables and marketing collateral that the agency thinks would be of benefit to the city that is not currently outlined in the RFP? If so, would you like these items listed in the budget?
- Yes, the City is open to hearing any additional deliverables or marketing collateral that you believe would be beneficial, even if they are not currently outlined in the RFP. We encourage you to include these suggestions as a separate section in your proposal. Ideally, we would see these items presented as individual line items in the budget, so we can review the cost breakdown for each item, if possible.
Q: Does this project have funding in place?
- Yes, this project was budgeted for in our 2024-2025 budget.
Q: Could you share the project budget or an expected budget range?
- At this stage, we are inviting agencies to submit their best ideas and pricing for consideration.
Q: Do you have organizational and local support for this project?
- Yes, we have strong organizational and local support for this project. We have received buy-in from city staff, administration, and relevant community organizations, ensuring broad alignment with our vision. However, we recognize the importance of continuing to gather community feedback, as outlined in the RFP. Engaging with the community remains a key priority to ensure that the rebrand reflects the diverse perspectives and needs of our residents.
Q: What are the top three issues and challenges the City seeks to address with this project?
- The City seeks to address several key challenges with this project. First, we want to create a brand that reflects the growth and development of our city, showcasing its evolving identity. It's important that the rebrand highlights our unique history and character, honoring the elements that make us special while embracing the future. Additionally, the project aims to align with the goals and initiatives of both our city staff and the community, ensuring that the new branding supports and enhances the ongoing efforts for progress. Ultimately, the goal is to bring our branding up to date, capturing all that we have accomplished while still paying respect to our past.
Q: Has the City previously worked with a branding consultant on similar initiatives, or is this the first major city-wide branding effort?
- To my knowledge, this is the first major city-wide branding effort for the city, as our current branding was completed many years ago. However, our Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Department underwent a rebrand in 2016, so our staff and key stakeholders are familiar with the process and have valuable experience working on similar initiatives.
Q: Beyond the requested deliverables, does the City anticipate needing additional guidance on brand activation, marketing roll-out, or internal training for staff?
- The City is open to hearing any additional deliverables or marketing collateral that you believe would be beneficial, even if they are not currently outlined in the RFP. However, we encourage you to include these suggestions as a separate section in your proposal. Ideally, we would see these items presented as individual line items in the budget, so we can review the cost breakdown for each item, if possible.
Q: Does the City have a local preference policy or any specific requirements regarding vendor location?
- No, the City does not have a local preference policy or specific requirements regarding vendor location. We are open to bids from anywhere and welcome proposals from both local and non-local vendors
Q: Which firm, if any, was responsible for the previous City of Mineral Wells branding project? If a private firm was responsible for the previous City of Mineral Wells branding project, what was the total design budget?
- The previous City of Mineral Wells branding project was completed many years ago, likely in the late 1990s, and we believe it was done by a local firm, prior to the current staff's tenure.
Q: When was the most recent community outreach survey work conducted? For what purpose(s) was this survey work conducted? (E.g., economic development, Main Street, etc.) Are summaries of these reports available?
- The most recent community outreach survey was conducted during the city's comprehensive plan study. The Comprehensive Plan was adopted on December 5, 2023. The full study can be found on the city's website or at: https://bit.ly/3QiYisZ

Q: The RFP mentions alignment with the City's revitalization efforts and growth trajectory- are there specific economic development or tourism initiatives that the brand should directly support?
- The City's new Comprehensive Plan was adopted on December 5, 2023. The full study can be found on the city's website or at: https://bit.ly/3QiYisZ. This plan is the roadmap our community is using to drive the revitalization and future growth of our community.
Q: How do you envision this new brand working alongside or integrating with existing regional, tourism, or economic development brands? (e.g., Palo Pinto County, Texas Tourism, Chamber of Commerce efforts)
- Our Chamber of Commerce and Tourism department went through a re-brand in 2016. While, the goal is for all brands to work together eventually, that is not a major factor to base our new branding on. There are potential plans for Tourism and The Chamber of Commerce to also update their branding to align with our new City brand.
Q: Beyond a workshop or survey, are there additional engagement strategies you would like us to consider, such as public forums, social media campaigns, or pop-up activations?
- The City is open to hearing any additional deliverables or engagement strategies that you believe would be beneficial, even if they are not currently outlined in the RFP. However, we encourage you to include these suggestions as a separate section in your proposal. Ideally, we would see these items presented as individual line items in the budget, so we can review the cost breakdown for each item, if possible.
Q: Does the City have any existing market research, community perception studies, or brand audits that would be helpful for this process?
- The most recent market research would be the City's new Comprehensive Plan which was adopted on December 5, 2023. The full study can be found on the city's website or at: https://bit.ly/3QiYisZ.
Q: The scope includes departmental logo variations—would you like a fully customizable branding system, or a more standardized logo suite for city departments?
- We are open to both approaches but would appreciate your expertise in guiding us toward the best solution for our city, taking into consideration the feedback from our community and stakeholders. If there is any variation in pricing or timelines between the two approaches, we would be interested in seeing that information separately in the proposal for further review.
