[ARCHIVED] Notice to Water Customers

In an effort to better prepare for potential drought conditions and to promote ongoing conservation of local water resources, the City of Mineral Wells has amended its Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan.

Beginning June 1, 2016 and going forward, the City will implement a twice a week schedule for unattended landscape watering (irrigation systems, lawn sprinklers). Unattended landscape watering at locations east of Hwy 281 will be allowed on Tuesdays and Saturdays. For locations west of Hwy 281, unattended landscape watering will be permitted on Wednesdays and Sundays. Unattended landscape watering on these specified days will not be permitted between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Hand watering of landscaping and gardens will be permitted on any day of the week subject to the time of day restrictions noted above. All other water use, such as washing cars, filling swimming pools, etc. will be permitted on any day of the week and will not be subject to the time of day use restrictions. The amended Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan is available on the City’s website (www.mineralwellstx.gov) for review and these specific provisions may be found in Sections 5.7, 5.8, and 5.9.

If you have any questions concerning these new water use restrictions, please contact the Public Works Department at 940-328-7777.
