RESIDENTIAL CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY

Only issued for New Builds upon Request after Final Inspections have been completed.

COMMERCIAL CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY

New Builds, New Tenants, or Ownership Changes need to apply for a Certificate of Occupancy.

A Certificate of Occupancy can be applied for online through our Permit Portal. If inspections fail more than twice a reinspection fee will need to be paid before your Certificate is issued. For Hotel/Motel Certificate of Occupancy all rooms will need to be inspected.

Certificate of Occupancy are NOT transferable and must be obtained before a business can open.

Your application must be received at least 15 days prior to the proposed start date for inspections to be scheduled.

INSPECTION REQUESTS

CO & Health Inspections (if applicable) are to be made through our office by calling 940-328-7716 or 940-328-7715. Fire Inspections are to be made through the Fire Marshall’s Office by calling 940-328-7791.

Once inspections have been passed, the Certificate of Occupancy will need to be signed by officials. Once the Certificate of Occupancy has been signed, a notification will be sent through the portal indicating it is ready for pick up.
